‘No man is an island entire of itself. [1]  and the same can be said for the Releasing Community Capacity programme.  In an ‘assets based‘ programme such as this we rely on the contributions of the community and the agencies that support our communities by providing services.  Bringing different agencies together on a common agenda helps us to minimise competition and duplication and allows us to share the extensive knowledge, skills and experience of the people we work with.

The RCC programme is supported by a board composed of a number of partner agencies who steer and monitor the programme. The role of a Board Member is to not only offer advice and guidance to the programme but also to take back messages into their own organisations from the RCC programme, share success and promote the programme.

Members of the RCC Board include:

  • The NEL Local Authority.
  • The NEL Clinical Commissioning Group.
  • A member of the Care Plus Group Management Team – representing the Good Neighbours programme.
  • Focus Independent Social Work Practice.
  • 2 Local Elected Members (councillors).
  • 2 Independent Community Residents who are also members of other patient voice organisations and strategic groups.
  • A representative of the Delivery Partner.
